Society for Personality and Social Psychology Peer Advising Program

11/13/2019

Are you someone who wants to learn about how to make the most of your convention and (under)graduate school experience from your more-experienced peers?

Do you often wish you could ask questions or seek advice from someone within the field, but not in your program?

What is this program?

The Student Committee is piloting a new version of the Peer Advising Program, in which 1st, and 2nd-year graduate students, along with last-year undergraduates, will select and be paired with peer advisors. We believe that this will be most useful to early career students as they can seek to learn from those who excel in certain areas of interest. Our goal is to facilitate new partnerships between peer advisors and advisees via the Peer Advising Program.

Annalisa's Experience

Through the program, Annalisa was paired with a 3rd-year graduate student enrolled at New York University. Annalisa looks forward to meeting her mentor at the SPSP conference in New Orleans, Louisiana this winter.

SPSP Diversity Travel Awards

As an Undergraduate Diversity Travel Award recipient, Annalisa will be travelling to New Orleans, Louisana this February for the annual SPSP conference.

Annalisa looks forward to networking with faculty members, graduate schools, and other ambitious undergraduate students pursuing a degree in Psychology, though she's particularly excited about the Undergraduate Mentoring Breakfast, which is an opportunity for researchers to talk with graduate student travel award winners about the graduate school application process and becoming a successful applicant.

Be sure to connect with Annalisa via Twitter or Facebook before the conference!
