Preparatory Education Program

09/17/2019

Are you someone who enjoys learning outside of the classroom?

Me too! Annalisa absolutely loves mentoring her undergraduate students. For her, oftentimes mentorship means paying forward techniques that are invaluable to academic and personal success.

Modelled after the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship completed at Cornell University, Annalisa began the Preparatory Education Program (PEP) at the University of Virginia (UVA), which is an opportunity for her undergraduate students to meet weekly to discuss their personal and professional goals.

Including but not limited to topics like time management, graduate school, and networking with professors, PEP has served as an exciting cornerstone of both JADE and SoBaD Labs for the 2019-2020 academic year.

Thanks to her students, Annalisa continues to engage with the next generation of academic scholars and support independent projects via Undergraduate Student Opportunities in Academic Research and the Distinguished Majors Projects), the UVA equivalent to the senior honours thesis.

Annalisa looks forward to another incredible semester at UVA.
